Restoring balance to the lives of Women and Children, by cultivating their social skills, addressing their mental & emotional needs while providing safe housing.

our mission

Restoration House for Women and Children, Inc. exists to provide emergency shelter and transitional housing for women and children experiencing homelessness and hidden homelessness in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Our program ranges from 6 months to 2 years and helps women overcome their past through counseling, teaching, workforce development and mentorship in an environment rich in healing and personal growth.

OUR STORY

While helping a young lady in need, I was reminded of how I faced homelessness when my children were young at that point in my life, despair and anxiety weighed heavily on me. My mission is to alleviate this emotional burden of today's young ladies.   Restoration House for Women and Children emerged as I walked her through the process of healing and restoration.

CEO & Founder, Karen Cole

OUR PROGRAMS

“Pack Light” Initiative – We have partnered with local schools to support them in their efforts to provide hygiene and essential items to students experiencing homelessness.  Our organization's goal is to foster confidence, promote a successful school year and to be a “light” to those facing some of the darkest times in their lives.
